I haven't run into everybody yet, so - hi, I'm Leonardo, I'm new, tell me if you find anyone else who looks like me, thanks.

[He's not expecting much on that last one, but hope springs eternal.

He's not sure how much to expect for this next bit, but he figures his chances are at least better.]

I'm looking to replace some weaponry; I've been looking, but I haven't found what I'm looking for so far. I get the feeling swords are a little old-fashioned around these parts, so I'm willing to take whatever I can get, but ideally -

[He holds his hands up to indicate a length, because what are the local standards of measurement even.]

About so long. Straight blade, square guard. I'm looking for two, but like I said, I'll take what I can get.

That's the hard one. I doubt shuriken are a thing around here, but I can improvise with scrap metal pretty easily on those, so I'm not too worried about that.

If anyone can help me out with that, let me know? Thanks.

[This is new! Instead of just a voice over the PA system, now all the hologram emitters pop to life and show a long haired, beardy human who is clearly in his old years judging by how washed-out his hair looks. He's dressed in the same brown robes ensemble that lucky dreamers may have seen on Lorana, only she really doesn't have the same look of axe crazy in her eyes as he does.]

Greetings, Outbound Flight!

[Oh goodie. This is going to be another Pronouncement.]

As you have no doubt observed, we have once more dropped out of hyperspace. We will be approaching a habitable planet in this system shortly, and our shuttle will be able to start making trips tomorrow. We are in need of resupply, and since you lot have been so gracious a set of passengers, I have a task for you.

[The hologram goes a little fuzzy, displaying pictures of the various items the Master starts talking about as it goes, just in case anyone is unfamiliar with the equipment he wants.]

It seems that our journey is going to be longer than anticipated due to hyperdrive issues. It would behoove you to acquire spare parts for each dreadnought's hyperdrive motivator, as shown, or our speed will be greatly reduced.

Given our population seems to be growing slowly, we will also need means of producing more fresh food to make the stores last. We will need herbicide for the vegetation current overrunning D6, and whatever local agricultural products are compatible with everyone on-board. The relevant chemical profiles for the crew can be found in the databanks.. you will have to furnish information for yourselves. We are low on medical supplies of all kinds, particularly first aid materials. Do fix that.

We will need raw materials for synthesis into parts and tools for the future-- the alloys needed are also listed in the databanks. We also have a parts catalog for the smaller vehicles on-ship... and you young hooligans need to stop wasting our working speeders.

[The display flips back to scowly beardy dude.]

There are items in the cargo hold that can be traded for currency or bartered directly for what we need. We do not have to remind you that this is a closed system when we are underway, and failure to deliver will have consequences.

[The holograms and so forth flip off with that little threat.

A curious thing to note-- doing as the Master suggests and accessing the full shopping list from the terminals reveals an unmentioned addition to the list. Somebody onboard is really jonesing for some decent brandy. Cursory inspection shows the edit to the list happened quite a bit after the Master's original composition of it. Lorana's friend, perhaps?]

I wish to say that I have been remiss for my duties that would be assigned to me in such a situation that we are in. I have been everything but professional, have been violent, and gotten lost in my own self-pity in a way that I haven't felt in ages. I wish to apologize to anyone I have wronged.

I also wish to see to it that we improve our bonds and our skills together. It is likely we won't spend forever lost in the dark and stars. I would be rather grateful for some time spent discussing where we are from and what that life meant as well, but more pressingly I would like to impart some of my Close Quarters Combat tactics to others. I know another has the ranged weapons and I don't intend to step on his toes. I've setup a free area in the D4 mess hall for us to do the training in. Don't worry, I've practiced against organics before. I know how to control my strength.

I have also started mediating again. I've always been crap to listening to Psychologists and Mechanics, but I think I need to turn that leaf. Anyone more spiritual with tips would be appreciated.

Finally I think my glaring weakness for my lack of understanding of my own person as an AI is far less excusable than it has at any time in the past. If anyone wants to bring my programming knowledge more up to snuff I would pay good money to if I had any. I know Clu knows this subject a lot better than me for starters.

Also glad nobody got hurt during the droid thing. I know they weren't the only ones that got a little crazy.

[Y halo thar network! Have a manic grinning Axl.]

Hey guess what I found!

[He held up a case, and nestled inside the case was a perfect pair of blaster pistols. Local blaster pistols. His were a different design.]

The armory is trashed but I managed to put a couple of these together!

If you don't know how to shoot, that's ok. I can give you lessons.

[He panned out to a makeshift firing range, complete with badly drawn picture of a crazy guy clutching an old-school microphone for target practice.]

You want one, come out and prove you know what to do with it. I'm not signing out arms I had to put together to somebody who's gonna shoot a hole in the wall.

[And he will be waiting, fiddling with another busted blaster, for his first customers~!]

[Can the mind be used as a communication device? Given the content of this dream, probably.

Falling asleep and waking up in an open library isn't normal, but the young woman sitting on one of the chairs is probably familiar to most. She wears sand-colored clothes and perches on the edge of her seat, twisting a lock of dark hair around her fingers. She looks like she's concentrating rather hard, but favors you with a smile when she looks up.]

I think we can actually talk now. Doing this was a lot harder than I first thought.

[She effects better posture, at least, and politely motions you into the chair nearby.]

I hope my former master hasn't given you too much trouble?

Who? Ship-wide. Sorry, guys.
When? August 8-13th
What? Robots gone wild!
Warnings? Potential everyone-on-droid violence, weird crap, mishaps.

Well you have to expect a few bugs, right? )

[The log covers fun running from the 8th to the 13th or so. You might want to make notes in the headers of your threads as to where and when things are going on. Remember if you plan on killing your character off (oops shoulda checked your coffee) you need to report it to the deaths page!]

Given this latest development, I have some information I wish to discuss with my fellow 'temporary passengers'.

For those of you who have not met me yet, I am Grand Admiral Thrawn. I have included a map with the conference room highlighted.

[This call doesn't come through the commlink network-- instead there's a short feedback squeal over the ship's public address system.]

It has come to my attention that there are a few unauthorized passengers aboard.

[The voice is that of an older male, that much you can tell. It's tired, and a little grudging, maybe even bored, as if he really didn't want to be making this announcement.

As if words are just tedious.]

Let me make it clear to you that while I'm sure you are as eager to depart this ship as I am to see you off, you are not prisoners. It simply follows that if you are to be temporary passengers aboard, you should be acquainted with a few simple ground rules.

First, you may address me as the Master. As I hope to keep our acquaintance brief, you will forgive me if I do not transmit my full resume. Second, you are to obey my instructions as they have everything to do with the success of this ship and mission. Since it seems to be the will of the Force that you are here, it follows that you should listen to one whom it speaks through.

Third, do not interfere with the regular crew. We are short staffed as it is due to an unfortunate... incident. If you are interested in joining the crew, there are some tutorial materials in the ship's databanks. I will make the training sims available to you.

Fourth, refrain from any over exuberance. This is a vessel of exploration and contemplation, not an excuse to have a roving party.

That is all.

[Had been a while since MDR-27 had been seen by anyone. He was happy enough to get in contact and meet with people as need be. Though first he had a bit to go over from his own explorations.]

Well, greetings my motley crew of folks. Not saying I'm the captain. I'm better at leading a battle than a ship. I've set us a meeting location in D4. Drinks on me if you come. Of course, they are free anyways... but you get the gist. I've uploaded the map I've made so far. I haven't done any EVA excursions yet to scout the areas exposed to vacuum yet, but I'd like company for those. Any of the other robotic crew up for that? Since I haven't seen what this place has as far as space suits go. After we meet up.

If you haven't noticed already, seems like we're on a whole bunch of ships lashed together. Anyways, to make it easier to navigate, I've uploaded a map as far as places I can get and can't, with red zones being pressurized and Orange doors being locked. I don't think I've gone every knook though, so feel free to add your own data if you have it.

I have some other thoughts, but prefer to meet in person to discuss it all. I don't want to posit theories over wide band. Plus would love to meet who I missed in our initial meet and greet.

[Action-D4 Mess Hall]

MDR-27 was sitting around, just relaxing near the bar and looking over at the zombie that was trying to pretend he was a bartender. Guy was shaken more than the drinks he made, he imagined.

[Maya was fidgeting a little as she got her commlink to activate. She had been mulling over the dream she'd had the other night for a bit. It wasn't a lot to go on. But she couldn't shake it. And people might think she was crazy, but it didn't hurt to ask... right?]

Um. So. Hi. I was wondering. One of the first nights or so we were all here I had a really strange dream. There was a woman in a library in it. Well, maybe not a library, as it was blue and glowing, but still. It wasn't a memory or anything. She wasn't anyone I knew.

It stood out. It was... kind of like a vision? I have some experiences with those.

[She smiles nervously.]

I guess I was just wondering if anyone else had similar dreams. Maybe we could compare notes... you know?

It's not like there was any warning.

One moment you're sleeping, or powering down, or dying or whatever you do... and then next you're waking up after what feels like a particularly restful sleep, the fragments of some vivid dream fading from your recollection. A sense of motion and falling, bright colors, a snatch of laughter, the stars spinning infinitely around you... this much you remember as you blink groggily awake.

And that would probably be about the time you realize that you aren't at home anymore. Instead.. you're in a box. Specifically, a cargo box. It's just big enough for you, and the lid's already been cracked a bit, so it's simple to push the lid out of your way and get a look around.

Sure enough, you're in a cargo bay. It's packed-- boxes and canisters are stacked to the ceiling, pretty deeply, most of them held in place with nets and rails to keep anything from falling. Your box, however, is on the floor where you can easily step out, or maybe stacked on top of another crate where things got a little narrow. You can see a few other boxes like yours, lids popped, nearby. The bay is dimly lit, the thrum of some powerful subsystem and the faint breeze of cool, dry air the only other real points of interest. Whoever might have opened your box is long gone. Probably that's a good thing, since it seems that they've also somehow stolen most of your stuff and left a mark on you, like some kind of weird circular barcode.

Just what you needed to wake up to.

This is a combined use network/log community, so make sure to follow the following handy steps:

DO:

~Make sure to tag all your posts either !network or !log as appropriate to what you're doing.

~Indicate in the subject if this is a network or log post (either through some formatting you use for character network posts or whatever.)

~Make sure the following information is before the action in any log post: Who is involved (and if the post is open or closed), when it takes place, where it generally is, and what is generally going to happen. If there is content that you feel might exceed a PG-13/Teen rating, please warn for that content and place the log starter behind a cut tag.

~Tag yourself in anything you post in! We use CANON: Character Name for our tags. The mod will try and scurry around adding tags people forgot, but may be slow.

DON'T:

~Post content that's considered mature/graphic without at least some kind of warning for the gentle reader. If a thread starts to veer into graphic content on a post that didn't already have that warning, make sure to throw a warning in the title area of the comment.

~Throw walls of text on the community. Use the cut tag.

~Use any other tags with an exclamation point at the beginning. (DO use !network and !log) Those are mod-only tags that will be used to keep this place from descending into Bedlam. Bedlam was not a nice place; let's not go there.

~Make the ship explode. It makes Master sad. :c
